TWO DAYS “ALL INDIA SAINIK SCHOOLS
QUARTER MASTERS AND MESS MANAGERS WORKSHOP 2017”
SAINIK SCHOOL BALACHADI
“All India Sainik Schools Quarter Masters and Mess Managers Workshop 2017” was conducted at Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar from 20 to 21 Feb 2017.
The school hosted the National level workshop for Quarter Masters and Mess Managers of the Sainik Schools Society, New Delhi. There were 44 participants from various Sainik Schools of different states of the country in this workshop.
The workshop commenced with lighting of traditional lamp followed by welcome of Capt (IN) G Rambabu, Inspecting Officer, Sainik Schools Society and all the Quarter Masters and Mess Managers by Col A K Sharma, Principal Sainik School Balachadi. The opening address was given by Capt (IN) G Rambabu. In the opening address, Capt (IN) G Rambabu stressed that the aim of this workshop is to provide a common platform to Quarter Masters and Mess Managers of all the Sainik Schools so as to streamline the problems faced by them. He also mentioned about the use of latest technologies available for providing better facilities to the Cadets and Staff.
In the workshop the participants were briefed about all aspects related to Cadets’ Mess and Quarter Master Section. Guest speakers covered the important topics such as, Procurement Procedures & Management of Finances, Proceeding for utilization of various Grants, Handling of Fresh and Dry Rations, Fire Fighting & Disaster Management, Ways to minimize food wastage, Man & Store management etc .
All the participants actively participated in two days workshop. Apart from the lectures delivered by the various resource persons, they were given practical hands on experiences as well and they were also taken for campus round in which they visited Hostels, Shopping Complex, Cadets’ Mess, Vegetable and Agricultural Farm, Swimming Pool, Indoor Sports Complex etc.
The workshop concluded with the appreciating words of Capt (IN) G Rambabu, Inspecting Officer, Sainik Schools Society in which he appreciated the efforts taken by the school and congratulated the school administration for the smooth and successful conduction of the workshop.
At the end, all the participants were facilitated by participation certificates.
