62nd ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION IN SAINIK SCHOOL BALACHADI, JAMNAGAR
Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar celebrated its 62nd Annual Day in
School Auditorium on 03 Nov 2023. Shri Prafulbhai Chhaganbhai Pansheriya,
Minister of State Parliamentary Affairs, Primary, Secondary and Adult
Education, Higher Education, Govt of Gujarat was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
Annual Day cultural programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and Mrs Geeta Mehta, first lady of the campus.Col Shreyash Mehta, Principal Sainik School Balachadi presented the School’s Annual Report highlighting the prominent achievements and the mission of the School to provide quality education for entry in the Defence Forces as officers. Principal also stated that the School administration is constantly striving hard to improve the standards by introducing innovations in the existing system like providing better infrastructure, adopting new teaching methodologies and updating the existing facilities.
The presentation of annual report was followed by a mesmerizing
variety programme performed by Balachadians. Cadets stole the heart of audience
with their exceptional performance in the form of mime on highlighting the
importance of water in our life, motivational group song, Hindi skit on Indian
Culture, Garba and Patriotic Dance on music ‘Sare jahan se acha Hindustan hamara’. This assured parents that their
wards can excel in every walk of life with their talents and acquired skills.
The Chief Guest gave away the prizes, trophies and certificates to the Cadets excelled in various Academic and Co-curricular activities for the year 2022-23. Cadet Het Patel of Tagore House was awarded with certificate, cash prize and rolling trophy for scoring highest marks in Physics in class XII, Cadet Yogirajsinh Gohil of Pratap House was awarded with certificate and cash prize for scoring highest marks in Mathematics and Biology in class XII. In Computer Science class XII the prizes were shared by Cadet Abdulla Muffadalbhai Laxmidhar of Shivaji House and Cadet Aniruddh Gohil of Sardar Patel House. While Cadet Chetan Sarvaiya and Cadet Manan Singhala of Tagore House were awarded with certificate, cash prize and trophy for securing highest marks in English and Chemistry in class XII respectively.
The most coveted ‘Cock House Trophy’ for the all round performer House was
bagged by Pratap House and Best all round Holding House was bagged by Nehru House.
‘Martyr Capt Nilesh Soni Medal’ for the best NDA Cadet was awarded to Cadet Yogirajsinh
Gohil of Pratap House, he was also honored with a cash award of rupees twenty
five thousand by OBSSA foundation Ahmedabad for his achievement. Cadet Naveen
Kumar, Cadet Aditya Kumar from Sardar Patel House and Cadet Jiya Doshi of
Ahilyabai House were adjudged as the ‘Best All Round Cadet’ of the year in
Senior, Junior and Girls category respectively. Cadet Abhishek Kumar of Pratap
House and Cadet Lekh Vashistha of Sardar Patel House were adjudged as ‘Best
Athlete of the Year’ and ‘Best in Art’ respectively. On this occasion, Digital
version of the School Magazine ‘Sandeshak 2022-23’ based on the theme ‘DISHA’
was released by Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts put in by the Cadets and Staff for
the grand show and also congratulated all those who won the prizes. He also
emphasized the need to imbibe qualities required to develop holistic
personality in Cadets and motivated them to be sincere, truthful, disciplined
and dedicated to join Armed Forces. He spoke on NEP and rich culture of India and
also appreciated the discipline of the Cadets. On this occasion, a portrait on
Chief Guest was made by Cadet Meghraj Gohil of Shivaji House was presented to
the Chief Guest.
OBSSA members, Parents and
families were present on this occasion. They were highly impressed by the performance of their wards. The Programme
culminated with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Lt Col Harjot Kaur, Vice
Principal of the School.
