78th INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED IN SAINIK SCHOOL BALACHADI, JAMNAGAR

School Balachadi celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day in
its School campus on 15 Aug 2024. Col Shreyash Mehta, Principal, Sainik School
Balachadi was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He laid wreath at Shaurya
Stambh - the School War Memorial. The School Cadets presented Guard of Honour
to him after that he hoisted the Tricolor followed by the National Anthem.
The
event started with the welcome of the Chief Guest in the School Auditorium. Cadet
Rudrax and Cadet Dhairya delivered speeches in Hindi and English respectively
on the significance of Independence Day followed by mesmerized patriotic dance performance
by the students of Balniketan Primary School on the song ‘Jai Ho’.
On
this occasion, Inter House Skit Competition was organized on the theme ‘The Unsung Heroes of India’s Independence
Struggle’ which was won by Angre House. Everyone in the auditorium
appreciated the stunning performance by the Cadets of various Houses on unsung
Heroes.
To recognize the budding talents, the Chief Guest gave away the prizes, trophies and certificates to the Cadets who excelled in various competitions- Inter House Skit Competition, Inter Class Notice Board Decoration Competition, Inter House English Essay Writing Competition and Inter House Drawing and Painting Competition conducted in School on various occasions.
OBSSA
members of 1996-2003 batch along with their family members visited the School
on this auspicious day and witnessed the function. To mark their reunion they
presented a token of remembrance to the Principal.
The Chief Guest in his address wished everyone a very Happy 78th Independence Day and appreciated the efforts put in by the Cadets and staff for the grand show and also congratulated all those who won the prizes. He gave special compliments to the students of Balniketan Primary School for their splendid performance. He advised Cadets to remember the hard work of everyone involved in School in transforming the lives of Cadets during their stay in School. The program in auditorium culminated with the spirited rendering of the National Anthem and distribution of sweets.
To
give the occasion an apt tribute, a cycle rally was organized in evening which
was flagged off by the Principal Col Shreyash Mehta. Staff and Cadets
participated in this 20 kms Cycle
Rally to honour the Indian Tri Color.
