'SWACHHTA DOOTS’ OF SAINIK SCHOOL BALACHADI
Sainik School, Balachadi organized a highly successful Swachhta Abhiyaan under ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign that focused on promoting cleanliness and hygiene among its cadets, faculty, and staff. The campaign, held on 01 Oct 2023, was aimed at instilling the value of maintaining a clean and healthy environment in every individual.
The Swachhta Abhiyaan witnessed enthusiastic participation from 550 cadets and 50 staff, showcasing the school's commitment to playing an active role in promoting cleanliness. The event commenced with an inspiring speech by Dr (Prof) Hireni Mankodi, PhD, FTA, FIE, eminent Professor from The MS University of Baroda, emphasizing the significance of cleanliness and its impact on one's overall well-being and the environment.
All the campus including cadets, staff members and Sarpanch of Balachadi Village Mr. Shadevsinh Vaghela joined the school for “Swachhata Pledge” and then commenced with the activities planned under “Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”.
Under the guidance of dedicated teachers and staff, the cadets actively engaged in various cleanliness activities throughout the campaign. They divided themselves into teams and were assigned specific tasks, such as picking up litter, cleaning classrooms, cadet’s mess, hostels, shaurya stambh, shopping complex, school parks, library, common areas, sick bay, cleaning the Balachadi Beach and the roads outside the School campus as also organizing waste management systems.
In addition to the hands-on activities, the school conducted awareness drives at Balachadi, aiming to generate consciousness about proper sanitation practices, waste management and the importance of recycling within the local community. The cadets actively participated in slogan writing competition, drawing competition on cleanliness, performed street plays for the local community and sensitised students of Govt. School Balachadi. The 'Swachhta Warriors' of Sainik School Balachadi carried placards motivating everyone to actively participate in maintaining clean surroundings.
The success of the Swachhta Abhiyaan can be attributed to the collective effort of the School authorities, cadets, faculty, and staff, who contributed their time and energy to make a difference. The event demonstrated the power of teamwork and shared responsibility towards our environment.
On this unique occasion, Col Shreyash Mehta, Principal, Sainik School Balachadi and Lt Col Harjot Kaur, Vice Principal, Sainik School Balachadi applauded the selfless contribution of the real Swachhta Doots and felicitated them.
