SS Balachadi, Jamnagar hosts the ‘Sahodaya Saurashtra Sports Carnival (Athletics) 2023-24’

 Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar hosted the ‘Sahodaya Saurashtra Sports Carnival (Athletics) 2023-24’ recently. It was a mega sports carnival where eleven schools from Saurashtra region- Delhi World Public School Morbi, The Aditya Birla Public School Veraval, Tatachem D.A.V Public School Mithapur, SDCCL Public School, Reliance Foundation School, Radhika EduCare, Sanskar International School, Nand Vidya  Niketan, Podar International School, JP Modi School and Sainik School Balachadi took part in all track and field events (U-12, U-14 & U-17 Girls & Boys categories) at the School Athletic ground.

The event started with the scintillating display of Horse Riding skills like Fast Riding, Tent Pegging and Obstacle Jumping show performed by the Cadets of Sainik School Balachadi which was applauded by the guest schools and all the spectators.

Sainik School Balachadi and Delhi World Public School Morbi won the trophy for Under-12 (Girls) and Under-12 (Boys) category respectively. For Under-14 (Girls) and Under-14 (Boys) category, the trophy was won by Reliance Foundation School and Sainik School Balachadi respectively while Nand Vidya Niketan was the winner in both Under-17 (Girls) and Under-17 (Boys) category.

All the participants exhibited competitive spirit and true sportsmanship during the daylong event and it provided a platform for participating staff and students to share their thoughts, knowledge, culture and best practices with one another.

While addressing the gathering, Col Shreyash Mehta, Principal, Sainik School Balachadi emphasized the role of games and sports activities in moulding the students into holistic personalities. He gave away the trophies, certificates and medals to the winning students and congratulated the winners and the participants for exhibiting true sportsmanship. He advised students to keep pursuing hard work in sports or in a field where they want to excel.
