VISIT BY THE CHAIRMAN MAJ GEN SS VIRK TO SAINIK SCHOOL BALACHADI

School Balachadi, Jamnagar came on his maiden visit to the School on 03 Nov 2023.
On
his arrival, the Chief Guest was given a warm welcome by Principal, Col Shreyash Mehta and Lt Col
Harjot Kaur, Vice Principal alongwith Sqn Ldr Mahesh Kumar,
Administrative Officer. He laid wreath at Shaurya Stambh - the War Memorial of the
School. The School Cadets presented Guard of Honour to him. Thereafter he
was briefed about the School and its surroundings on Sand Model by Cadet Dhruvil
Modi which was highly appreciated by the Chief Guest.
On
this occasion, the Chief Guest gave away the prizes, trophies and certificates
to the Cadets who excelled in academics and in various competitions during
academic session 2022-23. Cadet Het Patel, Cadet Rohan Mehta, Cadet Aman Kumar from
Tagore House, Cadet Prince Raj of Sardar Patel House and Cadet Aditya Kumar of
Garuda House were awarded for being topper in class XII, XI, X, IX and VIII respectively.
In class VII first position was shared by two Cadets – Cadet Ananya of
Ahilyabai House and Cadet Yaksh Makwana of Tagore House while in class VI the
first position was bagged by Cadet Jiya Doshi of Ahilyabai House.
The first time introduced trophy for
the ‘Multi Talented Cadet’ was given to two Cadets of class XII, Cadet Sachin
Kumar of Pratap House and Cadet Lekh Vashistha of SP House and ‘Shining Star Cadet’ trophy was shared by
two Cadets of class VIII, Cadet Dhruvil Modi
of Nehru House and Cadet Dhwani Borad of Ahilyabai House.
The trophy for the Best Debater in
‘Hindi’ and ‘English’ were given to Cadet Shreyansh Pandey of Garuda House and
Cadet Devsinh Parmar of Pratap House respectively. The rolling trophy of Inter
School Quiz Competition conducted by INS Valsura Jamnagar was awarded to Cadet
Kanan Shyara of Garuda House and Cadet Rudrasinh Chauhan of Sardar Patel House.
The
three rolling trophies – ‘Best House in Sports and Games’, ‘UPSC NDA trophy’
and ‘Inter House Public Speaking trophy’ were won by Pratap House whereas ‘Co-curricular
activities trophy’ was won by Tagore House. The ‘Academic trophy’ in seniors
and juniors were bagged by Tagore House and Nehru House respectively.
The
Chief Guest congratulated all those who won the prizes. He also interacted with the Cadets and the
staff. In his interaction the
Chief Guest motivated the Cadets to join the defence forces and serve the
nation. He appreciated staff for their selfless service and shared his memories
as a student.
The
visit concluded with the windshield tour of the School Campus.
